Dog and Cat Licenses

All dogs and cats in the City of Lambertville must be licensed.  Licenses are valid from January 1st to December 31st.   The license fee for a spayed or neutered dog/cat is $15.00 and $18.00 for a dog/cat who is not spayed or neutered.  Beginning March 1, 2012, a late fee of $25 will be imposed for all late registrations.

Once the forms are completed  they can be mailed to 18 York Street, Lambertville, New Jersey 08530 Attn: Dog License/Cat License.  Please include a check made payable to the City of Lambertville, a copy of the rabies inoculation and a self addressed stamped envelope.

ATTENTION PET OWNERS:

The City of Lambertville has the following ordinance (90-22) which may be of interest to you:

This ordinance deems that:

*All dogs and cats are required to be licensed.

*Evidence of Inoculation for Rabies is a requirement for licensing.

*Licenses are Non-Transferable.

*No person shall permit any dog owned, harbored, possessed or controlled by him to run at large within the limits of the City of Lambertville.

*No person shall permit any dog or cat owned, harbored, possessed or controlled by him to become an annoyance or interfere with the comfort and general well being of the inhabitant of the City of Lambertville. Such annoyance or interference shall include, but shall not be limited to, barking, crying, whining, howling, causing injury to person or property, or creating a condition hazardous to safety and health and shall be deemed a public nuisance.

Ordinance 9-2.3: Excreta: This section shall apply to the owner or other person having custody or control of any dog within the City. It is unlawful for the owner or custodian of any dog to permit, suffer or allow such dog to discharge its excreta upon any public or private property other than the property of the owner or custodian. Failure to remove and clean up such animal's excreta from public or private property as provided in paragraph d. is also unlawful and shall constitute a separate and distinct violation.
