A dumpster permit is required when a dumpster or similar container is placed on any City street or sidewalk.  The permit, which is available in the Clerk's Office, requires the exact location of the dumpster, size and capacity of the dumpster, the name of the owner of the abutting property and a certificate of insurance.  The certificate of insurance must name the City of Lambertville as an additional insurer and provide proof of general liability coverage to protect the public from bodily injury or property damage sustained as a result of the dumpster.  The certificate of insurance must contain limits of at least $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury and $50,000 per property damage.

The dumpster shall bear an identification number assigned by the State and the name, address and telephone number of the owner of the dumpster.  In addition, such dumpster shall be equipped with suitable reflectors, or such other warning devices.  Such reflectors shall be capable of reflecting motor vehicle headlights at a distance of five hundred feet.
