ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION MEETING: The Environmental Commission will not meet tonight due to a lack of quorum. They will meet next on October 26.

PENNEAST PIPELINEThe City continues to take proactive steps to stop the construction of the PennEast Pipeline. Mayor Del Vecchio and the Council recently enlisted SUEZ Water as an official intervenor with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission(FERC), opposing the project, and coordinated with US Fish and Wildlife on its declared opposition as well.  Councilman Ward Sanders was one of the speakers at a statehouse media conference and at a rally at the Trenton War Memorial, declaring his and the City’s strong objections to this threat to our water supply and natural environment. To better coordinate all the efforts in this area, the City formed the PennEast Pipeline Committee, which includes public members Sue Begent, Kelly Kappler, Kim Nage, Mike Spille and Jeff Tittele;  members of the Environmental Commission, Gina Frischetti, Filomena Hengst, and Lauren Rosenthal McManus; Mayor Del Vecchio  and Councilman Sanders.  One of the first municipalities to pass a resolution against the pipeline, Lambertville is also an official intervenor, standing up in opposition to the project.

EPA Backs Up City on PennEast Pipeline:
We are pleased that EPA recently weighed in on our side, raising strong objections to the PennEast Pipeline as currently proposed.   The leading federal environmental agency gave the project a grade of " Environmental Objections," saying that the 115-mile pipeline poses significant threats to the environment. This is a boost to the City's efforts to stop this ill-advised project.

FROM MAYOR DELVECCHIO: The vandalism that occurred in Cavallo Park and at numerous residences across the City is not just despicable, it is criminal. To see the person or persons responsible for these acts brought to justice, I have authorized the City to offer a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the person. Anyone with information into these crimes is urged to call the Lambertville Police at 609-397-3132

Lambertville Police Department is attempting to identify the above subject who is wanted in connection with a criminal mischief (graffiti) that occurred on 9/10/16.  Also pictured is the suspect’s alleged “tag”.  He may also be involved in other acts of vandalism that have occurred throughout the City.  The subject is described as white male, approximately 5’10”, light brown hair.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department at 609-397-3132.
