UPDATE: Debris Removal 09-10-2021

September 10, 2021  1:30 PM

DEBRIS REMOVAL: This City of Lambertville’s debris removal plan is ongoing and will take several days to complete and will continue throughout the weekend. We will only be removing debris that has accumulated on sidewalks and in other public areas. The Debris Management vehicles will be operating throughout the weekend (Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12).
The city and the County are working towards the removal of this material as soon as possible. We ask that residents work to remove household hazardous wastes in the coming days. There will be one (1) pick-up day at the Phillip L. Pittore Justice Center.

The city is placing dumpsters at several locations. The dumpsters are marked with yellow signs indicating that they are available to the public. Please utilize them! Please DO NOT put 'white goods' (appliances) or household hazardous waste in the dumpsters so we can ensure the ability to empty and replace them. LOCATIONS:

  • Buttonwood Street just east of George Street
  • N Union and Cherry Streets
  • N Union Street south of Cherry Street
  • S Union and Swan Streets
  • Quarry Street at Gasco
  • N Franklin Street between Coryell and Church Streets.

A big thank you to Hunterdon County for their efforts in advancing Lambertville’s debris removal.

HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD MATERIALS (paint cans, cleaning products, etc.) & WHITE GOODS (appliances): All household hazardous waste and appliances must be separated from the rest of the debris. Appliances must be taped shut or have their doors removed. Hazardous waste (paint cans, cleaning products, etc.) can be placed in the parking lot of the Phillip L. Pittore Justice Center located at 25 South Union Street or at Cherry Street. Please place them in the area marked and designated for Hazardous Waste.

MUD and MUCK: Mud that has accumulated in basements or on sidewalks, patios etc. can be placed on the street in the City’s right of way. We will continue to circle through the city to pick up the mud and debris and then run the street sweeper.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING: Regular pick up has been suspended for all non-Ida-related garbage. The normal schedule will resume on Monday, 9/13. If your garbage or recycling can is placed at the curb, be aware that it may mistakenly be removed by the company handling the debris removal.

STREET SWEEPER: The regular street sweeper will be suspended until further notice. However, we will run the sweeper through the city at various times to clean our streets. Please pay attention to the no parking signs posted by the police department and do your best to move cars out of the way as we continue to clean debris and lingering dirt. We understand this may be difficult as folks are working. We are doing our best to communicate as they plans change.

DISABLED VEHICLES: If your car is disabled, please contact the Lambertville Police Department at 609.397.3132 and they will assist you.
