Mail Box Thefts

CASE #’s 22004047 & 22004466

During the month of May, there have been two (2) separate reported incidents involving possible mail theft from the steel curbside mailboxes belonging to the United States Postal Service. All of the stolen mail contained checks that were later cleared of the original handwritten content and then forged for a greater amount. The checks were then deposited into an account other than the authorized recipient. The Lambertville Police along with the assistance of the USPS and financial institutions are investigating. Anyone that has had a similar experience or has any information are to contact the Lambertville Police Department.

All residents are encouraged to utilize the Post Office for any outgoing mail and not the curbside mailboxes until they are replaced with newer, updated versions.
