Parks & Recreation Commission Information
Lambertville is home to seven lovely parks, located throughout the City. They provide natural open space and recreational activities for the community to enjoy in our thriving, historic city. The Parks and Recreation Commission oversees operations and maintenance of our parks, while also offering recreational events and activities for our community at large. We are entrusted by our community to tend our natural open space, and we do so by honoring shared values of sustainability, natural habitat encouragement, low fossil fuel footprint, community stewardship and enjoyment of the outdoors.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of the parks, please contact us at
CAVALLO PARK: CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
During the course of recent soil testing arising from Green Acres grant funding requirements, the City became aware of elevated levels of lead and benzo(a)pyrene in the samples. The soil at issue was delivered to the site in 2017 in connection with the installation of an engineering cap required by this Green Acres grant. For this reason, Cavallo Park will be closed until the City can complete additional testing and remove the affected soil from the site.
Cavallo Park Environmental Remediation Project
The City of Lambertville is undertaking an environmental remediation project at Cavallo Park, located at 2 Mt Hope Street, to address contaminated fill identified at the Site. This fill may be harmful to people if ingested.
