SUPPORT FROM THE LEGISLATIVE OFFICES OF THE 15TH DISTRICT: Case workers from the legislative offices of the 15th district will be at the Union Fire Station conference room on Friday, 9/10/21, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm to help residents with a range of social service needs. We appreciate the assistance from the offices of Senator Turner, Assemblyman Verrelli, Assemblywoman Reynolds-Jackson, and Congressman Tom Malinowski.

FEMA: FEMA is in town to help residents and businesses register for assistance. FEMA reps are available at the Union Fire Station from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm through Sunday, 9/12. The City continues to advocate for FEMA to stay longer.

Residents can also register online at http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800.621.FEMA (3362) or 800.462.7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 am to 10 pm (local time) seven days a week until further notice. Please remember to photograph damage and report it to your insurance companies. If you need assistance, please reach out. ***FEMA is in no way related to ICE!***

DEBRIS REMOVAL: This City of Lambertville’s Debris Removal Plan will take several days to complete and will continue throughout the weekend. We will only be removing debris that has accumulated on sidewalks and in other public areas.

The City is placing dumpsters at several locations. They will have signs indicating that they are available to the public. Please utilize them! Please DO NOT put 'white goods' (appliances) or household hazardous waste in the dumpsters so we can ensure the ability to empty and replace them. Locations:

  • N Union and Cherry Streets
  • N Union Street south of Cherry Street
  • S Union and Swan Streets
  • Quarry Street at Gasco, and
  • N Franklin Street between Coryell and Church Streets.

A big thank you to Hunterdon County for their efforts in advancing Lambertville’s debris removal.

HAZARDOUS HOUSEHOLD MATERIALS (paint cans, cleaning products, etc.) & WHITE GOODS (appliances): All household hazardous waste and appliances must be separated from the rest of the debris. Appliances must be taped shut or have their doors removed.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING: Regular pick up has been suspended for all non-Ida-related garbage. The normal schedule will resume on Monday, 9/13. If your garbage or recycling can is placed at the curb, be aware that it may mistakenly be removed by the company handling the debris removal.

DISABLED VEHICLES:  If your car is disabled, please contact the Lambertville Police Department at 609.397.3132 and they will assist you.

FOOD, CLOTHING, & SUPPLIES: The Delaware Valley Food Pantry has temporarily moved to Centenary Methodist Church on North Union Street and will be open on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm.

Clothing is available at the First Presbyterian Church on North Union Street on Friday, 9/10 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and from Thursday, 9/9 through Sunday, 9/12 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Future hours will be announced as soon as they are available. Clothing is also available at Centenary Methodist United Church on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and on Sundays from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm until further notice.

FISHERMAN’S MARK NEW LOCATION: Fisherman’s Mark will be open from 9 am to 5 pm five days a week beginning on Wednesday, 9/8 in their new temporary location at the former Homestead Market.

CLEAN UP ASSISTANCE: NJ VOAD Crisis Cleanup is activated for all counties. Households with muck out, sheetrock removal, pump out, and/or tarping needs can be referred through NJ211 or 844.965.1386 to register.

PRICE GOUGING/FRAUD: New Jersey law protects residents from price gouging and other disaster-related fraud. An “excessive price increase” is any price that exceeds 10% of the price for which the product or service was sold during the normal course of business prior to the State of Emergency. While the vast majority of businesses and contractors during emergency situations act appropriately and often with enormous generosity, every state of emergency seems to bring out some seeking to take advantage of those in a state of crisis. If you believe price gouging or other disaster-related fraud is occurring, contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs at (973) 504-6240. Consumers are also encouraged to file complaints online by visiting the Division’s website. The Division has tips for home repairs here.
